A Soul For A Phoenix Ch. 5 Firelily groaned and opened her eyes to see many black paws in front of her. She bolted upright, and felt a sudden stiffness in her back, then instantly regretted it. She looked in front of her to see four other dragons in the small cave with her. There were purple/blue gems littering the walls, making it look like starts in the night sky. There was no entrance or exit to the cave, and she wondered how she got in. She was siting in the center of the cave, inside a bright green circle carved into the floor that extended to the other dragons in straight lines, each sitting in their own circle. She instantly recognized them all. In the first circle sat Talon, her wings folded neatly and a grim expression on her face. The circle next to her sat her best friend Apocalyptica, but in her dark form-she was smiling. Next to her sat Nightshade, Apocalyptica's adopted mother. In the last circle sat Darauecnur, her flames licking the floor. Getting slightl
A Soul For A Phoenix Ch. 4 Shadowtide managed to wriggle free of the chain that was wrapped around his mouth. He whipped his head in Firelily's direction and shouted, "Don't do it! Don't give her your soul!!!" Firelily ignored him, however, and looked at Darauecnur with hope in her eyes. "Is it true? If-if I give you my soul will you be able to save my family?" "Well...YOU will. Saving people is against me, but enabling someone to save others isn't." Darauecnur replied. "Are you willing to sacrifice yourself for your family?" "Yes! I drag myself across the universe with broken legs if it meant saving them!" Firelily said desperately. "No!" Shadowtide cried out, but Darauecnur put the chain back on his maw. She extended her bony, fire-covered paw towards Firelily, then said, "Shake my hand, and your family is safe." Firelily slowly put her paw forward, and her family protested, but she turned to them and whispered, "
A Soul For A Phoenix Ch. 3 "No!" Firelily cried out in anguish. "Leave them be!!" All of the other dragons laughed, and she roared and struggled against her captors, hissing and throwing a fit. Talon snorted, and dragged her family one by one over to a large tree stump, and laid their heads down on it. She created an ax out of Telekinesis, and sharpened it against her claws. She walked over to Firelily and gently slid it along her cheek, proving how sharp it was when it pierced through her scales an blood trickled down her face. Talon laughed menacingly and walked back to Firelily's family, dragging the ax along the ground. The other fire dragons threw jeers and scoffed as Firelily thrashed around, trying to break free, but her captors held tight. Talon raised the ax over Shade's head, adjusting her grip. Shade squirmed beneath the chains, but only managed to barely avoid the ax when Talon brought it down. The blade dug deep into the wood, and she snarled a
A Soul For A Phoenix Ch. 2Firelily growled and extended her claws, digging them into the dirt angrily as she hissed at Firedrake. "What have you done with my family?!" She demanded. "My, you sure are quick!" Firedrake scoffed. "Don't worry-they're safe for now. What you need to be worrying about is yourself." He flicked his tail, and a pack of muscly, mean-looking fire dragon warriors leapt out of the bushes, surrounding Firelily. She turned in a circle, observing her opponents, and counted at least 50. "Well now, my dear-what on Dracoria are you going to do about this dilemma?" Firedrake said in a mocking tone. "Oh wait-there's nothing you can do-BUT DIE!" He leapt forth at Firelily, roaring mightily and slashing out with his claws. He slashed Firelily across the face, and she flew back, while the rest of the fire dragons dog-piled on top of her as if it were a football game. "Get off, you incompetent fools! I want to kill her by my own hand
A Soul For A Phoenix Ch. 1 Firelily gazed down at her kingdom from high upon one of the towers of her castle, the grey structure shifting ever so slightly in the wind. It was a clear, sunny day, with no clouds in the sky, and the fresh, sharp smell of pine trees wafted up to her from the forest surrounding her home. It was the perfect day for flying. Firelily stood up and fanned out her large, golden wings, letting them catch the updraft, before pumping them up and down as she threw herself into the sky. The warm breeze flowed over her body, giving her a sense of relaxation as she glided through the blue, closing her ruby red eyes and letting the emotions take her over. After an hour of soaring and spiraling in the sky, Firelily gently glided and landed back down on her castle rooftop, then climbed inside to her bedchamber from a balcony. She then toured the castle halls, looking for her mate Shadowtide and their four children. Today they had
